The Foot is a Sensory Organ

The Complete Guide to Foot Reflexology we put in our theory of how reflexology works. One of our main points was that the foot was a sensory organ like your eyes and ears. Only the foot detected pressure, stretch and movement.

Years ago when we were revising our book,

The Complete Guide to Foot Reflexology  we put in our theory of how reflexology works. One of our main points was that the foot was a sensory organ like your eyes and ears. Only the foot detected pressure, stretch and movement.

Imagine my surprise this morning when I bumped into a site on footwear and biomechanics that stated the very same concept and connected it to proprioception which is the detection of pressure, stretch and movement. They have a chart similar to the chart we have in the book.

We always thought this concept was remarkably usable. Now it is being used to design shoes. What fun...

All the best,
