Curling toes

It is common to curling of the toes that there is stress in this area. The curling is a subconcious attempt to lessen the load on the sensitive areas under foot.

Hello,
I know reflexology is used to relieve symptoms of an ailment, but can it also be helpful in discovering an ailment?  I have a habit of curling my toes and pressing them to the floor.  I didn't even realize this was a habit until about a week ago while I was doing it with my left foot, I felt a kind of buzzing sensation in the rib area under my left breast.  This has consistently been the case ever since then, whenever I curl the toes on my left foot.  After mentioning this oddity to a friend, he suggested it may have to do with pressure points.  I looked at a reflexology chart of the foot and it appears that the chest/breast/lung is associated with this region of the left foot.  If this sensation does have to do with pressure points, could it be an indiciation that there is a problem in that area?
Thanks for you feedback.

Both The Complete Guide to Foot Reflexology and MyReflexologist Says Feet Don't Lie we go into what is referred to as "reading the feet". The ball of the foot is considered the chest, lungs. breast and upper back. It is common to curling of the toes that there is stress in this area. The curling is a subconcious attempt to lessen the load on the sensitive areas under foot. As reflexologists we also believe this is reflecting stress in the corresponding area as well. It is quite common and not necessarily an indicator of a problem.

Hope that helps. Thank you for your query.

All the best,
